While waiting for my plane to Japan, the book fell in to my hands.
IKIGAI: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life. “IKIGAI”, which roughly translates to "a reason for being" or "a sense of purpose." The book delves into how this philosophy can be applied to lead a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
1. Finding Purpose – The importance of having a reason to wake up each day and how pursuing meaningful activities can positively affect mental and physical well-being.
2. Living in the Moment – Emphasizing mindfulness and staying present in daily activities, fostering gratitude and joy from simple things.
3. Staying Active – Whether physically, mentally, or socially, the book shows how maintaining activity and a sense of community is key to a long and healthy life.
4. Balance and Simplicity – The book explores how simplicity and balance in life (especially with work, relationships, and health) contribute to greater peace of mind and contentment.
Its a must in your bookshelf…
