Table - a lesson on life balance

Updated: Jan 9

According to this lesson, the key to a meaningful life is balance.

Imagine of a table as a metaphore of a balanced life. Each leg corresponds an important c

ontent in our life: a satisfying job or an interesting school, a family or a special someone, a circle of friends or health, or maybe a fulfilling hobby. With three or less legs, the life gets shakier and more fragile: if one leg breaks down (like you loose you job or suddenly get ill), the likelihood of your whole life getting off-balance gets higher.

This analogy was so trivial that it made sense to the "teen me" and has carried me through life. A handful of deeper reasons are enough to wake me up with a smile in the morning and to go to sleep fullfilled in the evening. There has surely been times, when these reasons have been few or one "leg" has started to overgrow the others. These times I have clearly been going towards off-balance. But even then or should I say particularily then, the simple table metaphore has helped in making the correct analysis, correcting the path and finding the balance again.

I hope this helps you too...
